Two-time Wimbledon champion Murray will bear the Union flag in front of a TV audience of one billion viewers.

He travelled to Britain’s Davis Cup quarter-final against Serbia as a supporter and has been preparing for the Olympics at a training camp in Majorca.
Unlike the previous Olympics, Rio will not offer ranking points.
Andy Murray says carrying the British flag at Friday’s Olympic opening ceremony will be his proudest day but admits his technique needs some work.
“I remember in Beijing, although I didn’t perform well, it was nice being surrounded by the best athletes in your country and seeing them come back with medals. I was speechless”, explained Murray who said that England had made the decision based on his “perseverance and spirit”.
That was followed last month by a second Wimbledon victory, making him a heavy favourite to become the first person to win the SPOTY prize three times.
“I love the feeling of competing for my country”.
Rio de Janeiro – Adjusting quickly to the Olympic atmosphere and its unfamiliar environment will be key for Andy Murray as he bids to defend the title he won in London four years ago, the world number two has said.
Troicki is in a major slump and Murray is playing the best tennis of his career right now.
I am very proud to be selected as the Team GB Flagbearer for the Opening Ceremony on Friday.
Andy Murray labelled being named Great Britain’s flag bearer at the Olympics as the “proudest moment” of his career.
“I’m going to blame the photographers for what happened last night, because I was being given directions and then ended up putting the flag in Princess Anne’s face”. “I didn’t know what to do, to be honest”.
“The flag is huge and as soon as I tipped it, it was covering someone’s face”.
“I hope she was OK”. I didn’t mean to do it. “I was just following directions”. The 29-year-old was picked ahead of the likes of boxer Nicola Adams and rower Katherine Grainger.
“It’s absolutely deserved”, said Djokovic.
“It’s unfortunate with Roger and with Stan”.

“Maybe everyone thinks differently”. “To lead out Team GB will be an incredible honour, the biggest in sport”, he told the BBC.
