Paul Ryan: My Support for Donald Trump is Not a “Blank Check”
Betfair, a British prediction market, has the Republican Party as holding a 25.8 percent chance to win the president and gives Trump a 24.1 percent chance of becoming president, the New York Times reports. More than any other senior figure in the Republican establishment, Priebus worked to bring Trump into the party’s fold despite the NY businessman’s status as an outsider.

Hillary Clinton is a “founder ofISIS”, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has alleged as he stepped up his attack against the Democratic candidate. “I don’t want to do this, but I will do this because I feel like I have to in order to defend Republicans and our principles, so people don’t make the mistake of thinking we think like that”, Ryan said.
That’s a break from the unforced errors of the past week when Trump focused his attacks on a Gold Star family and three potential Republican allies: House Speaker Paul Ryan, U.S. Sen. Her spokesman pointed out that Trump has not said he won’t vote for Trump, making the ad “political double-speak”.
Ryan has backed Trump despite deep differences on policy and temperament, and has encouraged other Republicans to unite behind the party’s nominee.
Among the group is Trump’s former director of field operations in Florida, Stephanie Scruggs, who’s a senior adviser for the Nehlen campaign. “You think you’d ought to be focusing on Hillary Clinton and all her deficiencies”, Ryan said.
Ross, who has made billions of dollars betting on bankruptcies and distressed assets, is a critic of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s trade views.
“Yet, facing outcry on the left and right, Mr. Trump has insisted to associates that he has been treated unfairly by Mr. Khan, the news media and some Republicans, said people familiar with the campaign’s deliberations who insisted on anonymity to discuss them”. “I am absolutely suggesting we figure out how do we, we – here’s what we should be doing”.
Ryan faces a longshot conservative challenger, Paul Nehlen, next Tuesday.
Update, 5:43: An aide to Mike Pence tells Politico that Pence does indeed support McCain and Ayotte. “And he’s only 5 or 6 points behind”, Bennett said.
ABC News reported Wednesday that Republican leaders are fashioning a backup plan in the event Trump drops out of the race.
Privately, Trump points to his recent fundraising success, large rallies and decent polling against a seasoned candidate as evidence that his campaign is working well.
And his loyalists continue to stand behind him.
