DC Comics has had a rough go of it on the aggregator website, while Marvel movies have tended to fare much better. As superman is dead, the world has no hero to save it. So intelligence operative Amanda Waller assembles a team of risky criminals i.e., the deranged Harley Quinn, elite hit man Deadshot, pyrokinetic ex-gangster El Diablo, opportunistic thief Captain Boomerang, monstrous cannibal Killer Croc, and specialized mercenary Slipknot at the Belle Reve penitentiary and places them under command of Colonel Rick Flag, to be used as disposable assets in high-risk missions for the United States government. But wow, I wonder if they did do that. As in, we don’t even care that it’s August and the lady who plays Enchantress is dressing like winter is coming. But, what I feel is that being a master of guns and extreme precision, there weren’t many actions sequences where we could truly see the awesomeness that is Deadshot (I guess that would be my main gripe with the film).

The most noteworthy is Margot Robbie who brings a wonderful insane energy to her role as super villain Harley Quinn. Hmmm what should I say. well, let’s just put it like this, if Jared had a whole movie to play the Joker, he would have been a lot more appreciated that he was here.
I know some of the characters really well, and I didn’t know others almost at all.
Will Smith’s character doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest, but he’s fine in his anti-hero turn.
What is hugely clear throughout the course of the film, is that the cast and the characters were written and acted fantastically.
News broke today regarding Jared Leto’s appearance in Suicide Squad. With so many unstable and duplicitous characters, the plot does not go where one thinks it will go, and the many twists are part of what makes it fun.
“I’m not really a big fan of the film”, shared Mariel “but, I like the characters individually”. Having disappointed legions of fans with Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, the studio had hoped to redeem its image with its edgy multiple superhero vehicle, Suicide Squad. It incorporates many elements and material from these films, along with various DC Easter eggs but creates its own style just as Snyder did with his films. The fans argue that the site has “unjust bad reviews that affect people’s opinion even if it’s a great movie”. “It’s the fans that we made this movie for”.

After a string of beautifully-chopped trailers and a solid marketing campaign, director David Ayer’s SUICIDE SQUAD has arrived and the results are…quite mixed. Running time is 2 hours and 3 minutes.
