‘Republicans exploring how to replace Trump if he drops out’
Ryan has backed Trump despite deep differences on policy and temperament, and has encouraged other Republicans to unite behind the party’s nominee.

During a rally on Monday, Trump told the crowd: “I’m afraid the election is going to be rigged, I have to be honest”. “I have made this point already multiple times – just listen to what Mr. Trump has to say and make your own judgment with respect to how confident you feel about his ability to manage things like our nuclear triad”.
Paul Manafort acknowledged “a conflict within the Trump campaign” after vice presidential candidate Mike Pence endorsed Ryan a day after Trump declined to do so.
Earlier, Mr Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, blamed reports of disunity on Mr Trump’s opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton. “That goes with any situation in any kind of race”, said Ryan, before stressing that Trump won the GOP nomination race “fair and square”. “I believe we need Paul Ryan in leadership”. “That gets all the notoriety because he’s the Speaker”. McCain’s main primary challenger, former Arizona state senator Dr. Kelli Ward, said in a statement: “Donald Trump and Mike Pence recognize that we can not win Arizona’s U.S. Senate seat in November with McCain, the ultimate establishment insider and champion of compromise, as our nominee”. With an eye toward assuaging Latinos – many of whom have been alienated by Trump’s tough-on-immigration posture – Coffman will also release a version of the commercial which features him speaking Spanish. On Wednesday, Pence announced that he “strongly” supports House Speaker Paul Ryan’s reelection after Trump caused a firestorm by declining to endorse the Wisconsin Republican.
The Clinton campaign has been spending far more on television so far, and would need to continue to out raise Trump were they to continue at this pace.
However, Ryan’s criticism of his party’s titular leader did not end with his endorsement.
The Washington Post asked Trump Tuesday about his thoughts on Ryan, and Trump had a few choice words for the ranking Republican. Several media outlets reported on Wednesday that Trump had rejected advice from his staff to drop the dispute.
