The villains of Suicide Squad are the cynical marketing campaign targeting that demographic and a studio so anxious to impress, it stoops to an on-the-nose soundtrack that uses “Sympathy for the Devil” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” as shorthand instead of building mood organically.

After all, trailers for both Wonder Woman and Justice League, premiered at SDCC last week to an overwhelmingly positive response, creating exactly the kind of hype that DC needs right now. “That 95 percent of us are unemployed at any given time, so sometimes, you do a job for the money”.
