Polls show that the Democratic national convention erased Trump’s lead after the Republican gathering and gave Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton back her advantage.
According to a trio of polls released Thursday, Clinton has taken big leads over GOP contender Donald Trump in the battleground states of New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and MI, shoring up her favorable ratings with voters, while Trump is still burdened by negative ratings and deep divisions within the Republican party. Clinton is trouncing Trump 51 percent to 34 percent in a head-to-head match up.
Both candidates continue to suffer from challenging unfavorable ratings, though Clinton has made strides improving her marks following the conventions.
People familiar with the Clinton drive say the Democratic nominee herself has spoken to Republican business leaders, including Hewlett Packard Enterprise Chief Executive Meg Whitman, who endorsed Clinton on Tuesday. “Donald Trump, you are no Ronald Reagan”.
Republican Party’s candidate for the USA presidential elections, Donald Trump, is drawing flak form different quarters over his offensive remarks against the Muslim Pakistani parents of a slain U.S. soldier, with many analysts and political pundits saying the real-estate tycoon’s belligerent and aggressive attitude has gone too far this time.
They’re with her. Hillary Clinton surges to big leads in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and MI.
Manafort’s comment came a day after he went on Fox News and dismissed reports about internal chaos among Trump aides, which has overshadowed what the Trump campaign says was a remarkable $80 million fundraising haul in July. Kelly Ayotte, who is also up for re-election this year.
The officials, including one with direct knowledge of Priebus’ thinking, were granted anonymity to discuss internal strategy because they were not authorized to discuss the sensitive issue during one of the most tumultuous weeks of Trump’s presidential campaign. Other polls showed Trump down 11 percentage points to Clinton in Pennsylvania and 6 percentage points in Florida, two states that are important to his chances of winning the election. Her lead swells to 13 points, 47% to 34%, with Johnson and Stein included.
The poll indicates the Democratic National Convention was a boon for Clinton, with 62 percent of respondents who watched the event saying they were more likely to vote for her.
Manafort said that Trump’s dropping poll numbers “were expected” and that he expected the numbers to even out soon.
Many feel that the Republican Party they knew is unraveling in the face of a Trump candidacy, as the Monitor’s Linda Feldmann reports, particularly after he failed to endorse prominent Republicans such as Sen.
The presidential election is heating up, with just 95 days until Election Day. Clinton is ahead by only 7 points in a head-to-head contest with Trump. The Trump-Khan spat was the final straw for several GOP figures who came out for Clinton-including former California gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman, former Jeb Bush adviser Sally Bradshaw, former Chris Christie adviser Maria Comella, and retiring Rep. Richard Hanna. “We find Trump’s comments to be reckless, dangerous, and extremely unwise”, they wrote in a statement.
Clinton is ahead of Trump by 9 points, 41% to 32%, among likely MI voters, according to a Detroit news/WDIV-TV poll.
In Ohio recently, Clinton urged Republicans “to pick country over party”.

Pollster Richard Czuba told the Detroit News the survey found a “shocking” Clinton lead in typically reliable Republican areas in west and southwest MI, where she carries leads of 5-6 points. And according to the poll, 30% of self-identifying Michigan Republicans are not backing Trump.
