Snoop and Wiz Khalifa were reportedly escorted off stage by security as fans were helped from the crush.

During the performance, a railing gave way and dozens of people fell down into a gap between the audience and the stage, video posted on social media showed.

The railing was separating a sloping lawn from a covered portion of the concert hall.

Some people simply ran from the pile, while others were limping and needed to be held up by their friends, Colbridge said.

A Camden County spokesman said 10 to 15 people here hurt, but that the number could rise.

Immediately after the accident, some news outlets were reporting that up to 42 people were injured.

The conditions of the injured concertgoers was unknown. In video shared with NBC10, an announcer could be heard asking people to remain calm and that the concert would start again soon.

The BB&T Pavilion’s organisers then cancelled the event.
