Clint Eastwood Is Tired of Political Correctness, Trump Onto Something

Clint Eastwood’s tone-deaf comments about the “pussy generation” and Donald Trump’s racism didn’t sit well with many this week, including Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.

The Hollywood veteran, who first rocketed to stardom as an actor in spaghetti westerns and the “Dirty Harry” movies, added he is not impressed with the nation’s “kiss-ass generation”.

Eastwood’s last foray into federal politics was when he talked at length to an empty chair at the last Republican Convention for reasons only he might understand.

Clint Eastwood, the 86-year-old four-time Oscar victor, excoriated the current generation of Americans as weak and overly sensitive while backing Donald Trump even though the Republican presidential hopeful has “said a lot of dumb things”. And yeah, it’s a dumb thing to say. What’s it like being the son of Clint Eastwood?

“Everybody’s walking on eggshells”, said Eastwood, 86.

Eastwood, who was mayor of the California town of Carmel-by-the-Sea in the 1980s, knows what can happen when you go out on stage and try to wing it like Trump does day after day.

I guess he wants to return to those days of racial segregation, when the only women or people of colour you saw in the nation’s boardrooms were there to serve coffee to the middle aged white guys sitting around the boardroom table.

In 2012 Eastwood hosted a freaky mock interview with President Obama at the Republican convention accusing most of Hollywood as being “left-wingers”. I’ve got to say something more.

“That’s a tough one, isn’t it?” he said. “There’s been just too much amusing business on both sides of the aisle”. Both sides. But everybody-the press and everybody’s going, ‘Oh, well, that’s racist, ‘ and they’re making a big hoodoo out of it. “I haven’t talked to Trump”.

He also said “it’s a sad time in history” because of all our “political correctness’ falling short of endorsing the Republican candidate”. Just f-ing get over it.
