The autopsy results for the gunman, Omar Mateen, have also been released, and said he was shot eight times, including once in the head and twice in the chest.
Autopsy reports on some of the people shot at a gay nightclub in Florida in June appear to support witness accounts of the massacre at the crowded club including that some people were shot many times before the gunman was brought down in a hail of police bullets. Whereas, WFTV News 9 says toxicology reports indicate Mateen had an increased level of creatine in his system.
“With consideration to their loved ones, yesterday the Medical Examiner’s Office began contacting the immediate family of the victims to personally notify them that the autopsy reports had been completed and were being organized for release to the public”, said Carrie Proudfit, a spokesperson for the county.

With news that Mateen killed dozens of people in a gay nightclub in Florida and was born to Afghan immigrant parents, the Afghan-American community is expressing horror, sorrow and disbelief that one of their own could commit the worst mass shooting in modern US history.
This guy saved 70 people in Orlando shootings. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

During the shooting, Mateen used an assault rifle and pistol that had been legally purchased. He died in a hail of gunfire after police breached a wall in the venue. Mateen’s ex-wife has said he had a history of with steroids and was abusive.
