Doctor Strange will hit theaters on November 4th, 2016. In the Doctor Strange comic books, the Ancient One has always been Tibetan, which has led to accusations of “whitewashing” since it was announced previous year that the white actress had been cast in the role.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film also stars Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo, Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Mads Mikkelsen as villain Kaecililius.
For those itching for more, you’re in luck as during San Diego Comic-Con, the folks at Marvel have released a new trailer that gives us an additional look at Doctor Strange, which admittedly is probably one of the more trippy Marvel superhero movies we’ve seen.
This latest trailer is packed full of impressive visuals… and it’s clear that “Doctor Strange” is going to be quite a spectacle. Well, everything except for any of the original casts from “The Avengers” films, not that it mattered. Also making an appearance, some of the stars of Guardians of the Galaxy 2, among them Kurt Russell who’s revealed as Star Lord’s dad.

The upcoming film, starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill as Superman all showed up to promote the film, which appears to have a much lighter take on the mashup. Melty reports that Gunn has been teasing a promise of something cool at San Diego Comic Con on Twitter.
