Muzik nightclub shooting: Funeral for Ariela Navarro-Fenoy

Toronto Police Association President Mike McCormack told AM640’s The John Oakley Show on Monday that the risks of its officers getting injured at the venue is too high.

The use of paid-duty officers has been suspended at Muzik nightclub following two deadly shootings at the Toronto club last week.

Duvel Hibbert, 23, was pronounced dead inside the nightclub’s outdoor patio area while Ariela Navarro-Fenoy, 26, was shot north of the Dufferin Gates.

“On behalf of my whole family, thank you for the endless love and support you have provided for us.” said sister Aluen “It’s more than we could ever have imagined”.

“She was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest”, she added. “She was really special and we’re going to miss her so much”.

A visitation will be held for Hibbert at the Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery at 10061 Chinguacousy Rd., at Bovaird Drive West, on Friday, August 28 starting at 4 p.m. Hibbery’s funeral will be held the next day at 11 a.m.

Pugash said club staff members are working closely with police in the ongoing shooting investigation.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking witnesses and victims to come forward.

There have been no arrests in the case but two persons of interest are now being sought.
