The huge creature can be seen breaching the surface for air and frolicking along in aerial footage taken by news cameras.

“It’s the smaller of the two white whales that we have here on the east coast of Australia”, Long told the Australian Broadcasting Corp.

Mr Long said the whale spotted today was at least five metres smaller than Migaloo.

The whale is migrating from Antarctica to warmer warmers in the north, and was on Sunday seen making a splash at Hastings Point in northern New South Wales.

But albinos are extremely rare and Migaloo was at one time the only one known in existence.

Seaworld has reportedly confirmed the whale is Migaloo.

White Whale Research Centre founder Oskar Peterson said the whale could be another male humpback.

The proprietor of the local whale-watching organization, Whales in Paradise, states to have proof the whale sighted on Monday is indeed Migaloo himself.

“The photos coming in are inconclusive. He seems to be very shining white, while last year he had yellow coloring markings on him”, he said.

Mr Peterson didn’t think that whale was Migaloo, the humpback captivating whale watchers since he was first discovered in 1991.

The beloved Migaloo has a distinct hook, which was not evident in the recently spotted white humpback whale. Three others have been identified since, but they aren’t completely white like Migaloo.
