Showing no creativity/shame in its branding, “Instagram Stories” will allow users to create slideshows separate from their main feed, which disappear after 24 hours, Digital Spy said. Instagram Stories introduces a new bar on top of your feed where you’ll find the profile pictures of people who you are following.

Instagram Stories lets users share “all the moments of your day, not just ones you want to keep on your profile”. If someone has a new Story for you to view, they’ll have a colorful ring around their profile image.
Instagram just boldly copied Snapchat’s unique feature – it’s Stories.
Instagram Stories allows followers to send direct messages to the uploader but users can not “like” an image or post a comment, as in Facebook.
Instagram wants users to post more content through the new feature.
Instagram Stories will be rolling out to users in “the next few weeks” on iOS and Android.
This latest feature, even its name, may be far from original, but that might not matter to Instagram’s 300 million daily users.
Facebook has tried to acquire Snapchat a couple of times but it was unavailable to lure its founders.
Instagram Stories, announced today, bears a striking resemblance to the identically named Snapchat feature. Then edit the photos, add text/drawing and tap on Done to save the story.
Snapchat also has a “Story” feature that works in a similar way.
So basically, if you share too much of one thing, why not lump it all together in one “Story” which your followers can sift through if they so wish. Be on the lookout for Stories from the Fstoppers Instagram account as we try out the new feature once available.
Instagram has tried all options to promote its Stories Feed. The company hopes it will encourage people to check in and share more frequently.
