Producers have confirmed that there are plans to make a sequel, and that the director of the final four Harry Potter films and the first Fantastic Beasts film, David Yates, is already on board for the second instalment.

At 12:01 a.m. ET on July 31, Scholastic released the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two script book (ISBN 978-1-338-09913-3; All Ages), in print in the USA and Canada. The movie is set in the 1920s. When Harry took a class on magical animals, one of the textbooks was Fantastic Beasts and How to Find Them. Now, Hermione Granger became the Minister of Magic, Harry Potter is Head of Magical Law Enforcement and Ron Weasley has inherited Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, the joke shop started by his brothers Fred and George.

Accordingly, for the sequel of “Fantastic Beasts” and Where to Find Them, it will be much darker as it will show the dark times of the wizarding world.

A detailed plot is yet to be revealed as JK Rowling wants fans who see the play and read the script to keep it a secret by promoting the hashtag #KeepTheSecrets.

“Fantastic Beasts” the movie is from a 2001 book by Rowling entitled “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.

The “Potter” books “shaped my moral views, my understanding of how people should treat each other, and how we should behave in the world”, Ms. Zalon said. It is possible that the real world ignored it because they feared it, and perhaps Rowling will delve more into this issue only hinted at in her original seven-book series. We saw our biggest first day figures since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released in 2007 and after just two days’ sales Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is already our biggest-selling hardback since Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol in 2009.

The book that originated the story was written under the pseudonym Newt Scamander, where Rowling posed as the film’s protagonist.

It remains to be seen who among those characters will return in the sequel, and also which of the people in “Harry Potter” will appear as a younger person.
