Russian Federation says Syrian rebels used toxic gas against civilians

The operation to capture the school, regarded as one of the most significant strongholds of the Assad’s regime in Aleppo, had been launched along with the Free Syrian Army.

Al Masri said he took cover in a basement for an hour with neighbors, including children, as strikes hammered the area.

The SOHR said at least two children were killed and 30 other civilians were wounded near the town of Atareb in rebel-held territory. 35 of them were children. He was just 7 or 8 years old.

He said he believed the airstrikes intensified Wednesday after residents ran out of tires to burn and create thick smoke clouds to obscure targets from bomber pilots.

Russia’s defense ministry said on Monday the Mi-8 military transport helicopter had been shot down after delivering humanitarian aid to the city of Aleppo as it made its way back to Russia’s main air base in the western province of Latakia.

Heavy fighting has taken place on the outskirts of Ramouseh, a critical district separating the surrounded rebel enclave from rebel-held territory to the west, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

The American government has yet to okay the mobilization of the rebels, to the dismay of some of the countries involved, the official said.

The Observatory said at least 13 people, including nine children, were killed in air strikes on the rebel-held east of the city on Friday. Terrorist groups such as Islamic State (IS, also known as Daesh), as well as Jabhat Fatah al Sham (previously known as the Nusra Front), both outlawed in Russian Federation and a range of other states, are not part of the deal.

On Tuesday, SANA said dozens of families evacuated eastern districts in Aleppo, the second batch to leave the city since the government offered the safe passages.

Syrian government troops completely encircled rebel-held neighborhoods last week, cutting off all supply lines to the enclave.

O’Brien’s statement said the security of any such corridors must be guaranteed by all parties and that people must be allowed to use them voluntarily.

“There are two suicide bombers who have driven into regime posts inside the artillery base”, said Abu al-Walid, a fighter with Ahrar al Sham, who said there was fighting inside the base.

The aid group said five of the six hospitals hit in the past week had previously been bombed by Syrian forces. “It’s like we’re erasing a century of progress for humanity, for civilization”. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday dismissed accusations of Russian involvement in the gas attack and Russian agency Interfax, citing a Russian general, said a “poisonous agent” was sacked from rebel-held areas in Aleppo on Tuesday.

There have been more than 20 attacks, small and big, in these years, and investigations have revealed the gases used in these attacks include Sarin. “The U.N. should have full humanitarian access to all parts of Syria”, said the official.

The group said it verified each attack.

Moscow, meanwhile, hit back at United States criticism over Syria, accusing Washington of lacking trust in Russian Federation and not behaving as a true partner.
