Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is still the clear favorite to take Tennessee in the general election, but a new poll found Tennesseans don’t necessarily agree with some of their elected GOP leaders on at least one controversial gun issue.

They have mainly been a response to Trump’s denigration of Khizr and Ghazala Khan, immigrants from Pakistan who appeared last week at the Democratic National Convention to denounce Trump for his harsh rhetoric about Muslims, saying their son, who was killed in Iraq, would have been barred from entering the country under Trump’s proposed ban. I thought it would have been when he alleged that U.S. Senator John McCain was not a war hero because he was caught.
“That’s where I am”, Dent said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”.
Of the $90 million raised, $63 million was for Clinton’s presidential campaign while about $26 million was for other Democrats, it said in a statement.

Prominent staffers for people like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie have suggested they’ll vote for Clinton. WBUR reports 56 percent of respondents said the Democratic nominee emerged from her convention stronger, compared to 39 percent who said that about Trump.
Clinton’s pitch is aimed at cutting into Trump’s support among white working class voters drawn to his anti-trade, anti-illegal immigration message.
Trump shocked Republicans this week when he refused to endorse Ryan in Tuesday’s Republican primary in Wisconsin, but Ryan is brushing it off. Ryan himself hesitated for weeks before ultimately endorsing Trump.
A series of calls to a variety of players in the party and with Trump’s OH campaign did not produce a definitive answer. Ben Sasse (R-NE) – Hanna, a resolute #NeverTrump-er, is the first to go as far as crossing party lines in his opposition to the GOP presidential nominee.
The Republican convention was filled with errors, mistakes and a hurtful atmosphere.

Whitman is the latest in a string of Silicon Valley bosses to speak out against Trump after over 100 industry leaders pledged support to Clinton in an open letter last month.
