Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late Goes Platinum
Drake surprised the music world earlier this month by releasing the unannounced album ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.’ – AFP picNEW YORK, August 11 – Drake yesterday become the first artist to release an album this year that has sold more than one million copies in the United States, ending the latest industry drought.

Billboard reports that, after selling 8,000 copies last week, ‘If You’re Reading This…’ has now shifted 1.007milllion units in the US. Plus, every song on the effort (17 in all) earned a spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart shortly after it was released.
Nothing Was The Same and Thank Me Later sold at least 1 million and Take Care has reached more than 2 million units sold. Taylor Swift’s 1989 is the first.
Alongside a cover photo of the album, which Drake frequently refers to as a mixtape, he writes, “Platinum off the tape”.
Drizzy snatched his fourth straight album to move over a milli with IYRTITL, which debuted on digital platforms before the physical release.
