“She is my hero; I wasn’t strong enough to get out and she helped me”, said Brandi Meadows, mother of Bresha Meadows, who is now being held in the Trumbull County Family Court on a charge of murder in the death of her 41-year-old father, Jonathan Meadows. She used the same gun that her father often threatened them with to kill him. “I am so sorry she had to go through this”, Meadows tells Fox 8.
In the early morning hours, Meadows grabbed her father’s.45-caliber semi-automatic that was left unattended and pumped a single bullet into his brain as he sat on the living room sofa, Friedman said.
“She is my hero; I wasn’t strong enough to get out and she helped me, ” Meadows told the local station.
Bresha Meadows is now facing aggravated murder charges.
Bresha pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a charge of aggravated murder in juvenile court. If convicted as a juvenile, she could be locked up until she turns 21.
Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Stanley Elkins said police and prosecutors are still investigating the slaying of the 41-year-old man. “Anybody who has any information or reports should contact Warren Police”.
“I’m not finding any evidence of that”, Elkins said. In addition, the only documents found by the courts regarding the Meadows’ troubles was an order of protection filed by Brandi against Jonathan. Bresha’s aunt, a Cleveland police officer, says Bresha was “born into a nightmare”.
Latessa says there are now medical records surfacing about broken bones her sister Brandi Meadows suffered over the years as a result of alleged domestic abuse.
“This was a classic situation of a battered woman as it relates to mom”, he said. “It reached a point where it’s self-defense and defense of others”.
But the girl’s mother, Brandi Meadows, isn’t mourning the death of her husband Jonathon Meadows.

Friedman said he plans to cooperate with the investigation by prosecutors and police. Her next court date is August 30.
