Galaxy A5 Finally Gets Android Marshmallow Update
While the premium type smartphones and phablets are waiting for the Android 7.0 Nougat to be released on the market, the customers with medium range devices are not that excited when it comes to the new version of the OS.

Android Marshmallow has finally started to show some positive signs for Google. When comparing with the last released Google play distribution data, updated in July, Marshmallow is showing an increase of 1.9% in terms of running on devices, which is impressive, to say the least.
KitKat fell in August, dropping 0.9 percent to finish at 29.2 percent in August.
It makes sense for older versions of Android to slowly and steadily phase out, and the distribution chart for August confirms just that: the presence of Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, and KitKat is continuing to decrease. For the seven days ended on August 1st, Android 6.0 Marshmallow was found to be installed on 15.2% of Android devices that visited the Google Play Store during that week. And then there’s Froyo, which has been holding on to a 0.1 percent share in recent months and continues to do so in August.

Fortunately, the month of June showed some positive signs, when Marshmallow climbed its way to the top with 10.1% adoption in active devices. Google, rather than picking the name on its own as it usually does, chose to crowd-source this version’s name and named it nougat for the alphabet N, after its previous version Marshmallow for the alphabet M. As per Oxford Dictionary, nougat is a sweet made from honey or sugar, nuts and egg white. This will also be the major update for first generation of Galaxy A5 from Samsung mobile.
