IRobot launches the Roomba 960, cheaper version of Roomba 980
Roomba today announced the latest member of its high-end 900 series of robotic vacuum cleaners, joining the top-of-the-line Roomba 980: the slightly less expensive Roomba 960.

In a nutshell, what’s really noteworthy about the 960 is that it packs almost all of the same tech as iRobot’s current flagship, Dyson Eye 360 rival the Roomba 980, but costs $200 (approximately £150) less than high-end model.
The device, which has a starting price of $699, uses mapping, navigation, and an app to roam about the house and keep floors clean. Like the Roomba 980, the 960 includes features like dirt detect, recharge and resume, and tangle-free debris extraction.
What we do know – The 960 does have that less powerful motor, as it’s the same one taken from the non-smart 800-series Roomba, which is about 3 years old now. It can run up to 75 minutes, compared to two hours for the Roomba 980 and three for the BotVac Connected, according to the manufacturers.
However, once we know the iRobot Roomba 960 United Kingdom release date (and other countries) we will let you know.
The Roomba 960 retains several of the mapping advancements introduced in its older sibling, along with the mobile app connectivity that finally brings the line into the cloud-connected era.

Now also compatible with Braava jet, the iRobot HOME App helps users get the most out of their experience by allowing them to choose the appropriate cleaning options for their unique home. Roomba 960 will also be available in Japan and select EMEA countries later in the third quarter of 2016.
