50 Wickets taken by James Anderson against Pakistan in Tests.
Oxenford then issued two official warnings to Anderson for the same offence in the evening session, meaning the Englishman will be pulled out of the attack for the remainder of the Pakistan first innings if he transgresses again. But his mood soon deteriorated and he snatched his jumper out of the hands of the umpire Joel Wilson after being advised during his first spell that he was encroaching on the middle of the pitch.
Instead, it was Sohail Khan who found the edge twice to give the tourists the early advantage here, in a series locked at 1-1 with two to play.
“As a batsman, you really need just to focus as much as you can on that”, the 31-year-old Azhar told reporters after stumps.
Azhar said: “It’s a dream of any player to score a century in England, it’s very pleasing”.
“This being my first century outside Asia makes me proud”.
“I hope I can learn from good and bad experiences from the past”. It was disappointing, he was quite near to his century and runs were coming easily.
“It was unfortunate that he got run out”.
“Devastated about the injury especially with all the hard work put in by myself and others to get me back to full fitness”, Stokes had tweeted after he was injured.
“It was a frustrating day”, said Anderson.
It was after watching himself on television replay that Anderson – also reprimanded by the match referee earlier this summer for “disrespecting” umpire Sundaram Ravi in the Lord’s Test against Sri Lanka – realised an apology was necessary. I probably got a little bit out of order at one point with the umpires; I’ve apologised to both of them for my behaviour. I don’t necessarily think it was what I said, it was just the way I behaved.
Pakistan were still on their lunch score of 72 for one, with Azhar on his interval total of 38 not out, when the right-hander s flashing drive off Anderson was dropped by Joe Root at second slip.
Alastair Cook, England’s Test captain, suggested on Tuesday that Stokes’ latest injury “was in some way related to his previous one” – perhaps indicating that he might have required more time to retain peak physical condition before returning to global cricket – and stated that England should “treat him with care and let’s get him back 100 percent before we start talking of him playing again”.
“Not every catch will be taken and there are going to be times when the opposition play well”.

There was an obligatory Pakistani salute-and-press-up celebration when he did, and more chagrin for an unappreciative Anderson. “You come to England wanting to perform in English conditions so there’s always something to prove here”.
