Clinton says she wants to invest more in infrastructure, generate more jobs for young people and help black entrepreneurs start businesses.
Clinton said there is misogyny in the tone of the Trump campaign but added, “let’s not lose sight of the pain Americans are feeling”. Almost 90 percent of Black voters have signaled they’ll support Clinton in November, along with 64 percent of Latinos.
A Democrat with strong ties to minority communities, Clinton is expected to easily outperform Trump with black and Hispanic voters.
During her remarks, Clinton praised the work of the media.
While Comey has said that there is “no basis to conclude she lied to the FBI” he never weighed in on her statements to the American people. “Now we’ve got to do even more”.
She listed off other African-American staff who have worked with her – and for her – and said she’s had a “lifetime of friendship” with black people.
“They are part of a long, continual struggle for civil rights”, Clinton said of the need to improve economic opportunities for minorities.
Rare’s Kendall Trammell was inside the room as Clinton spoke and reports there was lots of applause for a Washington Post reporter’s comment that Clinton should talk to reporters more often. She also promised in her first 100 days as president to propose comprehensive immigration legislation. A Fox News poll gave her a 10 percent national lead while a recent Franklin and Marshall University poll gauging Pennsylvania, a must-win state for either candidate, showed Clinton ahead by 11 points.
Last month, FBI Director James Comey told Congress that classified materials were included in some of the emails on Clinton’s server. But Comey said three were marked classified and more than 113 contained classified information. “That is the bottom line here”.
“I have acknowledged repeatedly that using two email accounts was a mistake and I take responsibility for that but I do think having him say that my answers to the Federal Bureau of Investigation were truthful and, then I should quickly add, that what I said was consistent with what I said publicly and that’s really in my view ties my both ends together”, Clinton added. “So I may have short circuited it and for that I will try to clarify”.
Republicans were quick to pounce on Clinton. “Clinton knows the actions she has taken are disqualifying for someone wishing to become commander in chief, and that is why today’s painful, pretzel-like response to a simple question about her illegal server was obvious to everyone watching”. They’ve raised issues with me.

“That’s how I think about it and that’s how I’m going to try in this campaign to respond to and rebuke all of the frightful things he (Trump) says on a pretty regular basis, but not about me, I could care less about that”, Clinton said responding to a question about her Republican rival. “I realize I have work to do”.
