UFC Rumors: Amanda Nunes to defend bantamweight title against Alexis Davis
See long before Nunes was the women’s bantamweight champion in the UFC, she was a highly touted prospect fighting in Strikeforce, who made an incredibly impressive debut with a 14-second knockout over Julia Budd.

Nunes submitted Miesha Tate in the first round at UFC 200 on July 9, and told the media in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that it makes sense to welcome Rousey back in a title fight on November 12, when the UFC will host its first event at Madison Square Garden.
Rousey, who last fought at UFC 193, where she lost to Holly Holm via knockout, is only expected to be back early next year as she is now fulfilling movie commitments and underwent knee surgery in June.
Amanda Nunes is clearly interested in fighting Ronda Rousey, but the newly crowned champ isn’t sure that “Rowdy” can say the same…
If Rousey’s hiatus is prolonged even further, Nunes said she’d gladly fight one of two other challengers.
Whenever it happens, Nunes is ready for Rousey, also saying during the Q&A, “I’ve been training jiu-jitsu since I started. Jiu-jitsu and judo both together”, Nunes said ahead of UFC 201. “I know how to block very well judo throws, I know how to use my hips very well”, she said. I wish Ronda Rousey comes back and we can make this happen. She is the first female Brazilian UFC champion. She fought inferior girls, and those girls fell in her game, that pressure from the UFC and media, and fell in the armbar. When he called me about the interview, I thought he was calling me about setting up a fight.

UFC president Dana White assured fans that Rousey is immediately getting a title shot upon her return. “Everybody knows that I respect Miesha a lot, but I’m the new champion”. But that won’t happen with me because I’m mentally stronger. “And Ronda Rousey was indulging in some retail therapy as she was spotted in Santa Monica, California, this Wednesday. It’s no problem”, she added. “The 29-year-old mixed martial artist looked remarkably relaxed and happy as she checked out some clothing stores”. The video largely features the west coast native as she gets undressed from a photoshoot, ready to hit the bag in the gym.
