Northern California wildfire doubles in size overnight
A mandatory evacuation order is in place for the Jerusalem Valley.

Crews made headway Tuesday against a small wildfire in rural Riverside County that chased people from their homes and left one person burned.
For the first time, the U.S. Forest Service says more than half its budget is being spent to prepare for and fight wildfires.

King’s home was among eleven homes reported to have been destroyed in the Willow Fire. The state’s largest wildfire was burning in Lake, Yolo, and Colusa counties, and has prompted the evacuations of hundreds of residents and destroyed 43 residences, 53 outbuildings, and eight other structures.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The US Forest Service has tallied 13 wildfires in which suspected drones interfered with firefighting aircraft this year, up from four last year.

Michael Hallenbeck, 21, of Shingle Springs, California, was hit Saturday during the initial attack on a fire that broke out south of the Echo Summit mountain pass. “Today’s fearless Florida Forest Service wildland firefighters are proud to return the favor to help protect life, property and natural resources in California”.

Ruhl, was a former member of the Coast Guard who became a Forest Service Firefighter in the Black Hills. All evacuation orders in the area have been lifted.
