Trump Strikes Conciliatory Tone With GOP Leadership as he Endorses Ryan, McCain

Trump has not had a positive relationship with McCain in the past, criticizing him previous year for having been captured after his plane was shot down in the Vietnam War. The two men have been having a sort of cold war since Ryan’s reluctance to endorse Trump. He rarely admits that he’s wrong. The Republican Party of Brown County has previously said the Trump campaign expects 5,000 people to attend the rally at the KI Convention Center.

Should this play out as expected, Trump’s Number One Fan isn’t going to be happy.

Donald Trump issued a surprise series of endorsements at a campaign event on Friday night.

“Paul Ryan said he never wanted to be speaker of the house, so I’d like him to achieve that goal”, she said.

Nehlen also drew controversy Thursday for questioning why Muslims are allowed to live in the U.S.

Trump also used the moment to put to rest two other simmering feuds with top Republicans by announcing his support for Arizona Sen.

The endorsement followed plenty of uncertainty. On several occasions, the Republican members have disagreed, and Ryan even criticized Trump’s comments on the deceased soldier parents. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), who he heaped scorn on during the Post interview.

“All my life I’ve been told, ‘You have the greatest temperament, ‘” he said.

Trump’s string of endorsements seems to represent a belated attempt to restore party unity.

Ryan has set himself up as the conscience of the GOP.

The Wisconsin Republican said there was a hypothetical line that was too far for Trump to cross. On Monday, Trump thanked Nehlen on Twitter for his “kind words” after Nehlen defended him, and the next day Trump refused to back Ryan in the primary.

An aide to Ryan later said that the speaker “appreciates the gesture and is going to continue to focus on earning the endorsement of the voters in Southern Wisconsin”. “You would think you ought to be focusing on Hillary Clinton – on all of her deficiencies”.

Those numbers were nearly identical back in May, and they’ve never really fluctuated much, so Ryan’s victory was never really in doubt. But despite that, he felt the pressure to back the most significant figure in the GOP establishment. And very importantly toward real change.

We’re past the point where things like this can be cast as Trump truly changing tack and shifting into general election mode. “Let’s just be really clear about this”.
