So far, Ryan Murphy has yet to reveal the official theme of AHS Season 6. This is related to the Roanoke mystery, a.k.a. the Lost Colony, suggesting that this season may take place either in colonial times or in modern times with callbacks to the past. The same word found carved on a post at the abandoned colony.

TMZ managed to get their ever-grasping (but often accurate once they’ve grasped!) hands on some photos from the set of American Horror Story’s upcoming sixth season, whose teaser trailers thus far have included a series of completely vague yet still somehow disturbing imagery. The legend-spawning story is ripe for American Horror Story to tackle, if this is indeed a major part of Season 6. Six separate trailers for the series have been released, but the overall theme of Season 6 remains a mystery to many. She explained that the colonists became ghosts that haunted Native American tribes in the area and that tribe elder was able to banish the spirits by reciting the word “Croatoan”.

Another set photo released by TMZ featured a colonial-era farmhouse, and sharp-eyed fans have pointed out that this appears to be in line with last week’s Snapchat teaser that showed a remote farmhouse with black smoke billowing from its chimney. “It’s set in two time periods but principally in the present”, Deadline quoted him as saying at the time.

In the pictures of the set, there is a tree next to the farmhouse with the word “CROATOAN” carved in it.

What do you think about the new premise for American Horror Story?

Some suggestions have been “Forest”, as well as something to do with Roanoke Colony disappearance.

In addition to the above mentioned, this season will also star Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson and Leslie Jordan, among others.
