Backwards Compatible EA Games Coming To EA Access On Xbox One

If EA does start releasing backward compatible titles, it would have over 80 Xbox 360 games to choose from before they even think about anything published under the EA Sports label. I mean £2.99 or £4.99 to basically rent an old PlayStation 3 game for two days is scandalous. Then if they had a library of titles that you could play for around the cost of Netflix each month, more people would be willing to give the service a try.

At the second, there are exclusively 13 video games within the vault, and all of them are trendy titles.

The backwards compatibility program is now being tested with members of the Xbox One Preview Program, but Microsoft confirmed at Gamescom recently that everyone else would be able to enjoy it when it goes public in November. Unfortunately we don’t know when the game will actually become playable through the feature but we will surely learn more about the matter soon.

The move wouldn’t offer the same added value as Microsoft’s own backwards compatibility scheme, which will roll out later this year. “Stay tuned”, says EA Access on Twitter. Currently, the service and its premium access to the publisher’s games are limited to the X1, but it’s possible that the introduction of backwards compatibility will enable EA to throw their X360 titles into the mix.

If EA is really serious about going down this path, we suspect the company might make a big announcement before the end of the year, or early on in 2016.

Microsoft have promised hundreds of titles from Xbox 360 will be available on Xbox One
