“I want to have frank discussions with the relevant officials in India because we can’t delay preparations for too long and we need to know where we stand”, Shahryar was quoted saying.

About series with India, he hoped that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would get government’s nod to play a bilateral series with Pakistan according to an MoU signed between the two countries.
He said the PCB has scheduled many tours for Pakistan A team to groom the young talented players of the nation.
“BCCI is standing firm that they will respect the MoU signed with Pakistan, but they need permission from the recently-elected government”.
Shaharyar, replying to a question at a press conference here on Monday after resuming office from a 40-day long annual vacation, said: “The decision on PSL was taken after thorough consideration”.
“The PCB have always maintained the stance that sports and politics should be kept apart”. Only PCB has reached out to BCCI.
“We have also asked the PCB global department to organize more and more worldwide tours for the teams”, he said.
“We can’t do anything about this issue because we placed an open tender and Ten Sports won the broadcasting rights”.
“If Sarfraz does not have any commitment with the national team in December then he will be tried as captain against England Lions”, said a PCB official.
“In the next few weeks, we will finalise the plan of all the countries who are willing to tour Pakistan and play some matches on their way to the World Cup”, he added.

Shaharyar Khan said PCB was in touch with the global cricket council as far as resumption of worldwide cricket is concerned in Pakistan. “This year in December England Lions will tour UAE for five list A, five T20 and two day matches”, he said.
