He said they were working with Live Nation and BB&T to install a temporary railing with a buffer zone before Saturday night’s concert. Love, “tweeted Snoop on Saturday, Aug. 6”.
Camden County Police and city officials are still trying to figure out what caused the railing to break. Fifth Harmony’s 7/27 Tour show that is scheduled for Sunday night will also go on as planned. The railing broke around 10 p.m., which resulted in members from the crowd falling 10 feet onto a concrete pathway.
Outside the venue, meanwhile, an emergency area was set up to treat people who had suffered injuries in the incident.
WCAU reported that at the time the collapse happened, Snoop and Wiz were yelling for the crowd to “stand up”.
The railing was separating a sloping lawn from a covered portion of the concert hall. Some fans fell 10 feet onto a concrete walkway below. It seems the collapse was due to support poles separating from a support wall.
Several videos shared with NBC10 shows dozens of people tumbling on top of each other. It happened as Snoop Dog was performing on that stage.
Both men were ushered away as security moved in to help the injured, Colbridge said. The injured were taken to five different hospitals, including Cooper University Hospital, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and Virtua Hospital in Camden, and Inspira Medical Center and Kennedy University Hospital in Cherry Hill.
Their condition is not known. 40 people were reportedly hurt and taken to the hospital.
