Trump doubles down on criticism of Fox News moderator

Donald Trump and Fox News are taking steps to fix their rocky relationship after the presidential candidate hurled a slew of controversial criticisms at the network for what he perceived as unfair questions directed at him in last week’s debate by moderator Megyn Kelly.

“Trump, who is the front-runner, will not apologize, and I certainly will not apologize for doing good journalism”, Kelly said.

An online defence of periods has been trending, after Donald Trump’s comments about “blood coming out of” Megyn Kelly, the host of last week’s Republican party leadership debate.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Hillary Rodham Clinton says she didn’t know Donald Trump very well when she attended his 2005 wedding but thought the event would be “fun” and “entertaining”.

When asked why many of his fellow candidates and conservative pundits had reached the same conclusion about his comment, Trump replied: “They want to be politically correct”.

For his part, Trump has defended the remark in multiple interviews and a written statement, claiming that his reference was to Kelly’s nose or ears. “I think the guy went way overboard – offensive, outrageous, pick your adjective”, Clinton said of Trump. But he did say, “She asked me a question that was nasty and I gave her a pretty tough answer”. “I’m just not prepared to tell you right now”.

“His word is always good!” wrote the billionaire businessman and 2016 Republican presidential candidate, whose unorthodox campaign is dominating the race and summertime polls.

Many, but not all, of Trump’s GOP rivals criticized the remarks. “I’ve won all my life. We had a blunt but cordial conversation and the air has been cleared”, Ailes added.

On Sunday, Trump called in to four morning news shows, skipping Fox, the network with which he is feuding. Trump refused to back down from his tough talk, saying on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Monday that Kelly owes him an apology.
