Nik Wallenda in Wisconsin to attempt his longest tightrope walk
Renowned daredevil Nik Wallenda is expected to take his tightrope-walking skills to new lengths Tuesday at the Wisconsin State Fair. He made it across a high wire at County Stadium and even did a handstand in the air, which Nik said was “his thing”. Wallenda is the Guiness World Record holder in nine other stunt categories!

Wallenda walked 1,576 feet at more than 10 stories above the Milwaukee Mile Speedway on the fairgrounds. He has conquered Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon and walking between two skyscrapers downtown Chicago.
The latest stunt follows heart stopping feats earlier this year in Connecticut and Orlando, which saw Wallenda tightrope walk 80 feet above the ground and around the Orlando Eye untethered.
Wallenda told fans one of his future attempts might involve the Egyptian pyramids.
“I understand this is gonna be the longest walk that he’s ever done”, Amber Daugherty said. “I have to watch, I can’t not watch”, Delilah Wallenda said. “That’s where I feel at home”, Wallenda said.
Wallenda is part of the seventh generation of the famed Flying Wallenda family of acrobats. He was the last Wallenda to appear in Wisconsin, walking the wire in 1974. That was what my great-grandfather did. “I do everything I do to really honor my ancestors and to honor him”, Wallenda said. Nik wore those shoes and carried a 45-pound bar to keep his balance on his almost 1,600-foot walk.
“They’re supposed to protect him”, she said.

“Every step he takes, his life is on the line”, Rodriguez said.
