Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate for president, took a pointed shot at Republican nominee Donald Trump in an interview with the Reno Gazette.

Johnson and Stein are seeking spots on the all-important presidential debate stage this fall.
And while the campaigns of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump dominate headlines, voters continue to express record dissatisfaction with the two frontrunners.
What’s more, the latest polling shows that when third-party candidates are factored in, Clinton’s lead over Trump has consistently shrunk, creating what Politico described as a potential “third-party headache” for the former secretary of state.
“I do believe that most people in this country are Libertarian, it’s just that they don’t know it”, Johnson said. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson founded a group called Our America Initiative in 2009 to demand the CPD allow participation by any presidential candidate with enough ballot access to win the election.
The Stein campaign had no immediate comment.
No third party candidate has participated in the debates since Ross Perot in 1992.
The clock is ticking for both campaigns.
“Polls show that a majority of voters want to see additional candidates in the debates”, said John Andrews, Senior Advisor to Jill Stein.
With 16 percent support among young voters in early August, Stein could hope to make even deeper inroads in the autumn. Plaintiffs argued that the major parties excluded them to preserve “duopoly control over presidential and vice presidential debates in general election campaigns for the presidency”.
Other critics of the debate commission have made similar claims in the past. Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti, in Rio to pitch his city’s bid for the 2024 Games, said a Trump victory could make it that much more hard for the United States to win the Olympics.
Stein said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” in June that media coverage of the Green Party was vital to making voters aware of her candidacy.

The news came amid the Green Party National Convention, which is being held this week in Houston, Texas. “As I read each name, please say if you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of these people – or if you have never heard of them”. They are, however, better known than many past third-party candidates, including some who ran on the Libertarian and Green Party tickets.
