Trump refuses to endorse leading Republicans as cracks within party grow

John McCain said Wednesday he’s sticking by his pledge to support Donald Trump as the GOP’s presidential nominee despite a series of Trump comments that have brought rebukes from top Republicans, including McCain himself.

McCain’s response was a lengthy denunciation in which he said the GOP nomination does not confer on Trump “unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us”.

Trump’s comments “create a clear and present danger”, says Hayden.

Trump reiterated his stand and said he does not regret having criticised the parents of a slain Pakistani-origin American Muslim soldier Humayun Khan who was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq in 2004.

Trump has repeatedly criticized Khan’s parents since the two gained national prominence at last week’s Democratic National Convention, where they denounced Trump’s candidacy and questioned his knowledge of the US Constitution.

“I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president”.

So it might come as a surprise to hear a group of Gold Star families describe a private meeting with Trump as “warm” and “compassionate”. Trump said the grieving father had “no right” to criticize him but later acknowledged their son is a hero. Trump later responded by saying he, too, had made sacrifices, which sparked criticism from many, including families of fallen soldiers.

The family of Humayun Khan, a College graduate and member of the University’s Army ROTC program, has been at the center of political debate in recent days after appearing on-stage at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in support of Hillary Clinton.

The donations will only be charged to the supporters’ credit cards if Khizr Khan agrees to run for the House of Delegates, Virginia’s version of the House of Representatives.

“I like Paul, but these are disgusting times for our country”, Trump said.

“We’re the families who really live with the price of war, who live with the price of service and honor and duty to country, and all of the things that go with it”, she said. If it was up to Donald Trump, he never would have been in America.

The spot was released by Priorities USA, a Super PAC supporting Clinton. We are stronger together.

“I don’t regret anything”, the Republican presidential nominee told WJLA, the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C., yesterday. We believed in American democracy; that with hard work and goodness of this country, we could share in and contribute to its blessings. If Trump can not do better than Romney in Duval County, his chances of winning Florida’s 29 electoral college votes becomes far more hard.

On the other hand, the Khans haven’t gone out of their way to let the story fade either.
