Kasich: Trump Jr. called aide to float VP offer

The least Kasich could have done is give the opening remarks at the convention to welcome the delegates to our great state.

JOHN KASICH, THE Ohio governor and former candidate for the Republican US Presidential nomination, has confirmed he turned down the chance to be Donald Trump’s Vice President. He also says he isn’t sure whether Trump can win OH if he remains so divisive.

Kasich raised controversy in some GOP circles by declining to attend the Republican National Convention – which was held in his home state – but he’s at peace with the decision, which he told Tapper was about “manners”.

Trump will have a hard time winning Kasich’s home state of OH, the governor said. The report indicated Trump would’ve allowed the governor jurisdiction over “domestic and foreign policy”. “But I got the second best job in the country, president and governor of OH”. “If I wasn’t prepared to go there and get up and endorse the nominee, I just thought it was inappropriate to go into that convention hall”. And I have to be true to myself.

Kasich has long withheld his support of Trump following a bitter primary fight. “You know, president, and governor of OH, so I was never interested in being anybody’s vice president”.

As to his thoughts on the fast-approaching general election, Kasich said, “I wish that I could be fully enthusiastic”. “Now people are saying, ‘I should either go to Maui or maybe Cleveland.’ It’s a hilarious situation”.

Added Kasich: “Believe it or not, I wanted to show respect to the nominee”.

“This is very disturbing”, Kasich said.

The remarks put Kasich on a growing list of Republican leaders who are beginning to distance themselves from Trump. “I think it’s really, really hard”. John McCain, of Arizona, and Sen. I have never see a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion.
