The Republican Debate: How did the candidates fare?
The debate, hosted by Fox News, not only set a new record for a Republican primary debate, but had almost three times as many viewers as the last record holder. It also revived his feud with former The View co-host and comedienne Rosie O’Donnell, who tweeted a comment during the debate, as well as sparked a new one with Kelly, whom Trump excoriated on twitter early Friday morning.

Trump also badgered Kelly at the end of his response, telling her that if she didn’t like his history with women, “I’m sorry”.
“You call women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals”, Kelly said.
Trump said he wouldn’t engage into a Kelly slug-fest and Twitter has his back about the “unfair treatment” from Kelly. “Megyn Kelly’s question to Trump re what he’s called women over the years was awesome!” “Our politicians are stupid”, Trump responded.
A Fox News focus group conducted by pollster Frank Luntz right after the debate was down on “The Donald“, with many participants on the panel saying their opinion of the billionaire businessman turned negative after a performance they found to be disturbing.
Tonight was supposed to be a big night for Donald Trump.
“Bret, with the hand raising and having to do with wanting me to give up my leverage because that question was absolutely – or that statement – it was just aimed at me, which I didn’t think was appropriate”, he said.
‘Donald Trump’s hitting a nerve in this country, ‘ Ohio Governor John Kasich said.

Erickson held his ground, though, replying that common decency is not the same as political correctness and noting that it “must be a pain in the ass not to be able to buy somebody“.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky did take on Mr Trump, confronting him after Mr Trump kicked off the debate by refusing to pledge his support for the Republican nominee in the November 2016 election.
Because somebody doesn’t think the way I do, doesn’t mean that I can’t care about them or I can’t love them.

Fox had attracted attention prior to the debate for deciding to include 10 of the 17 declared candidates in the prime-time debate.
