Bad news – they’re here. The Wynwood section of Miami is the only area in the country that has faced locally transmitted infections so far, and aerial insecticide spraying is in progress. They are the first to be infected by mosquitoes in the continental United States. But the perception of the situation, similar to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010, could be much wider that the actual area of impact.

“So, I’ll let Republicans in Congress answer for why they squandered the last 5 months before we saw direct transmission of Zika in the USA, but the president, HHS, CDC and NIH as well as public health officials across the country are focused on responding to this public health emergency with every resource that we have available”, the White House official told The Daily Signal.

While doctors will use ultrasounds to monitor pregnant women who have had Zika, ultrasounds can not detect the virus itself, nor are they the best first step in Zika testing.
You could pick any number of issues for which this is true, from gun control to enhanced airport security to the dozen or so spending bills needed to keep the federal government functioning.
