Packers’ Brett Hundley could miss Hall of Fame Game
Favre’s illustrious 16-year career with the Packers was over before Capers came to Green Bay.

Rodgers was being given the night off, after participating in every camp practice prior to Thursday night.
According to a report from Andy McDonnell of NBC 26 News in Wisconsin, head coach Mike McCarthy has stated that Green Bay Packers’ backup quarterback Brett Hundley could miss Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game against the Indianapolis Colts.
On a weekend when one of their all-time great quarterbacks will be celebrated and their current quarterback is expected to be a spectator, the Green Bay Packers are likely to play the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game with two undrafted, rookie, free-agent quarterbacks: Joe Callahan and Marquise Williams. But if he performs well enough Sunday night and throughout the preseason to convince the Packers of his potential, he could land on the practice squad as their developmental third quarterback.
Though a post-practice fireworks show, other attractions and reasonably priced tickets of $10 are a big draw for the family-oriented event, McCarthy felt the 90 minutes for practice was time well spent.
McCarthy said Hundley, who is working as the top backup to Rodgers, was nicked in practice Monday. “We talked about it for the first-year players in our meetings, but until they experience it, you see the wide eyes and the excitement when they walk out there”. However, the fact that he won’t get a lot of playing time during the preseason shouldn’t come as a surprise to people who watch the National Football League because teams usually don’t let their star players play too much in the preseason to prevent injuries.
Rookie Blake Martinez was in awe of the huge reception when he ran onto the field with his fellow inside linebackers during pre-practice introductions. Indy to me is the team that needs this game more than the Packers but even so I like the first string of Green Bay much better and even though it is a pick em I will take the Cheese Heads.
Yet, because the Packers have an extra preseason game this year with their appearance in Canton, the common thought is McCarthy will play it safe by not playing his franchise player.
Mike McCarthy will meet with his coaches today to make playing-time decisions for the game.
“There’s going to be a lot of great competition”, Rodgers said.
In his last 12 games of 2015, Aaron Rodgers only threw for 300+ yards twice, and a passer rating of 100 just once. Whatever he wants us to, we’ll do. “But whatever he wants us to do we’ll do, whether that’s a series or a quarter or more than that, we’ll be ready to play”.

Rodgers told reporters, “If I’m not playing – and I haven’t played a ton in the preseason the last couple years – I’m on the headset, I’m listening to the plays, I’m helping [Hundley] out, and I’ll be there for Joe and Marquise as well”.
