Donald Trump’s spokeswoman Katrina Pierson backtracked today after blaming President Obama for the death of Captain Humayun Khan.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger of IL said the Republican nominee is “beginning to cross a lot of red lines of the unforgivable in politics”.
Mrs Clinton has already picked up a few telling Republican endorsements: Ms Meg Whitman, the Hewlett-Packard executive who ran for governor of California as a Republican, backed her on Tuesday, as did Representative Richard Hanna of NY, a moderate Republican.
While Hanna said he disagrees on many issues with Clinton, “she stands and has stood for causes bigger than herself for a lifetime”.
Hillary Clinton took a double-digit lead over Donald Trump in a Fox News poll released on Wednesday. “We’ve sort of had a rule of not getting involved in primaries because it’s usually not a good situation for the presidential candidate”.
Republicans are about evenly split on the back-and-forth, with 41 per cent saying similarly while 40 per cent of Republicans saying Trump’s response is “in bounds”.
The Indiana governor has been called on several times to do damage control this past week after the Republican presidential nominee made incendiary remarks.
Whitman’s decision comes at an inopportune time for Republican supporters as Trump has faced backlash for his controversial comments regarding sexual harassment and an ongoing feud with the family of US fallen soldier Humayun Khan.
“Donald Trump should be winning in Arizona”, pollster Mike Noble said.
Trump has been widely criticized, including by many Republicans, for denouncing the Khans, who are Muslim-Americans. In the midst of the uproar over his continued criticism of the Khan family, Trump infuriated Priebus and other party leaders by refusing to endorse GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan’s re-election. Romney also has declined to endorse Trump, though he has not gone so far as to endorse Clinton. He also had a meeting with McCain and publicly endorsed Ryan. The Oneida County and Herkimer County Republican chairpersons recalled the party supporting Congressman Hanna in his three succesful bids for office.
There’s no indication Trump is unsatisfied with Pence’s approach.

Mr Trump reassured supporters that, despite a tumultuous week, his campaign “has never been more united”.
