Trump to outline economic plan as he seeks to reverse slide
But even as his allies speak of lessons the political newcomer has learned, two of his staunchest Republican critics warn that he could be heading for losses in a pair of battleground states.

Trump himself ended the week by grabbing hold of an off-the-cuff remark Clinton made about misspeaking – she said that she “short-circuited” – and ran with it as evidence that she is somehow mentally incapacitated.
And Republican strategist told the NYT that ads will be airing soon that would treat Trump’s defeat as a given and seek support for Republicans running for Congress as a check on Clinton.
Almost three-quarters of registered voters – 74 percent – said they disapproved of how Trump managed the situation.
Trump has vowed to rewrite some global trade deals, including the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico that was signed into law in 1994 by Clinton’s husband, then-President Bill Clinton. “There will be sections he will win because people are angry, frustrated and haven’t heard any answers”.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani says Trump’s endorsements, coming after his refusal to endorse the trio, show that Trump “has the ability and the understanding to realize that there are going to be disagreements and you’ve got to be able to reach out to the entire party”.
“And finally, I think it’s personal”. That commander-in-chief measure has become so important that Clinton can lead this race despite performing poorly on many other criteria: thirty-three percent believe she “tells the truth”; fewer than half believe she’ll “look out for people like you” despite putting an emphasis on that topic at the Democratic convention, and only 34 percent believe she can bring change to Washington.
“You can’t just throw platitudes out there about a wall or about Mexico paying for it and then be taken seriously here”, Flake said.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will deliver what aides are billing as a major economic speech on Thursday in Detroit. Among those who supported a Republican besides Trump in the primary, 12 percent planned to back Clinton before the conventions.
His announcement comes amid consternation within the GOP over Trump’s attack on the parents of a slain USA soldier and his refusal last week to endorse several key Republican figures – though he reversed coursed and endorsed House Speaker Paul Ryan, Arizona Sen. Kelly Ayotte. She’s a terrific senator.
Although Clinton seems to have been helped by the Democratic unity at the convention, she also appears to have benefited from Trump’s criticism of the parents of a captain in the U.S. Army, Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq.
“Donald Trump is shadowboxing against every last person on the planet”, he added.
Sen. Tim Kaine says, “I think the reason we are doing better in polls since last week is folks are getting reintroduced to that story in a positive way”. Clinton has also proposed a minimum wage increase, a new “exit tax” for companies that move overseas and tax simplification for small businesses.

The Washington Post-ABC News poll released Sunday includes data that gives a bit more insight into just how Trump managed to make his position worse.
