Another high-level soccer match is about to happen on the Orlando Citrus Bowl.

Florida Citrus Sports announced this week that it will host a neutral-site matchup between Alabama and Louisville during the opening weekend of the 2018 season. The game will be held on October 25, the same day as Orlando City’s final MLS regular season game.

Seattle Reign FC goalkeeper Hope Solo is part of the US team. The U.S most recently played in Orlando in November 2013, enjoying a 4-1 triumph over Brazil.

“We have made no secret of the fact that we would like to bring a women’s professional team here”, Rawlins said. Rawlins wouldn’t commit Monday to leaving the Citrus Bowl open for a watch party for the Lions’ game, but he did say it’s being considered.

“We are proud to continue giving our community the soccer it craves”, Orlando Buddy Dyer said. The stadium was also the training base for the U.S. team for both the 1995 and 1999 World Cups and 1996 Olympics. It was seen by 26.7 million viewers.

The Americans are set to play 10 friendlies in celebration of the team’s third World Cup title, which was clinched with a 5-2 win over Japan on July 5.
