Gingrich: No candidate’s economic plan adds up

Case in point: the just-released ABC News-Washington Post poll that has Clinton ahead 50% to 42%.

Hillary Clinton is surging among women voters, posting a 23-point lead over her Republican rival Donald Trump in a new poll published on Saturday, with an overall lead of eight points.

Clinton enjoys a huge lead among all non-white voters with 75% support to Trump’s 18%, the poll finds, with 92% support among blacks for Clinton to 2% for Trump, and 69% Hispanic support for Clinton to 26% for Trump.

Moore said that, while Trump still favors the plan he unveiled in September, his team had added new specifics and made changes “that will significantly reduce the cost of the plan”. People who supported Trump and Clinton in the primaries were always heavily likely to support them in the general election, too. So, on that category, Clinton leads Trump by more than 30-points. Before the conventions, 57 percent of those who backed Trump did so because they opposed Clinton; after the conventions, that figure was 56 percent.

In the age breakdown, the results are somewhat split. She is ahead by a single percentage point in Ohio.

Trump’s latest barrage of attacks against Clinton – while not a departure from his brand of personal and aggressive attacks against his opponents – did mark an escalation in his attacks, just as Clinton and her allies are stepping up their attacks against Trump.

Leaders of Trump’s Republican Party last week distanced themselves from his spat with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the American Muslim Gold Star parents who criticized Trump at last month’s Democratic National Convention. But they also pointed out the areas where they diverge, hinting at her own rollout later this week, by noting Trump doesn’t support debt-free college, paid family leave or a federal minimum wage. A Reuters/Ipsos poll out on Friday showed the race closer three months ahead of the November 8 presidential election. The aide said the campaign would have a more detailed childcare plan in the future.

Clinton has nothing listed on her public schedule until Monday, when she makes campaign appearances in Florida and New York City. “She managed to trump Trump in terms of mistakes”, Gingrich said.

Clinton said at the weekend that she had “short-circuited” a week earlier, when she claimed that the FBI Director, James Comey, had said she had been truthful to the American people about her email server. “She’s unbalanced.” Trump mocked her comment that she “short-circuited” in answering a question about her truthfulness in her handling of national security material on the unsecured, private email server she used while she was the country’s top diplomat from 2009 to 2013.

It noted that two Republicans locked in tight races kept away from Trump’s campaign events in their states this past Friday – they didn’t want to be seen with him. With it being clear that some Republicans are firmly against the idea of a President Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and her campaign, are actively seeking out these Republicans in order to assist her and her bid to become the first woman to hold the office of President of the United States.
