Local media reports said Mancini was leaving after Inter’s new Chinese owners failed to accommodate his requests for new players, reports Xinhua.

Mancini’s departure was confirmed by the club on Monday morning in a statement on their website, stating “F.C. Internazionale Milano confirms that it has parted company with head coach Roberto Mancini by mutual agreement”.

Mancini became Inter head coach in November 2014, taking the club to fourth place in Italy’s top flight last season.

In addition to that, the team have been beaten by Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich in pre-season friendlies.

Former Manchester City boss Mancini has been given the boot after nearly two years in charge of the Serie A side and it follows the Nerazzurri’s fourth-place finish last season which saw them return to European football by claiming a Europa League berth.

“We thank Roberto for the work and commitment he has shown the club over the past 20 months”.

Ever Banega, formerly of Sevilla, has arrived as a free agent while left-back Cristian Ansaldi was a modest purchase from Genoa.

Dutchman De Boer, 46, is believed to have agreed a three-year contract to succeed the 51-year-old Italian.

Mancini’s position had been in doubt because of his reported misgivings over Inter’s transfer business.

De Boer has never coached outside of the Netherlands, and did not play in Serie A either. He led the club to a Turkish Cup trophy and departed at the end of the season.
