Dipa has also been credited as only the fifth woman in history to have landed the Produnova vault, which is one of the most hard vaults in gymnastics.

The diminutive gymnast is one of only five in the world that have successfully landed the unsafe Produnova Vault. The jump includes twin somersaults and places huge pressure on the spine, with some even suggesting it should be banned.
India created history with gymnast Dipa, when she has reached for the final round of the Individual vault finals.
But irrespective of her performance in the finals, what she has achieved already is stuff of legends. Dipa could continue with only three subdivisions after which position depended on the performances by USA, Japan, Canada and Russian Federation.

She entered the gymnasium, realising this was the pinnacle of her career, and also, at once, the zenith for Indian gymnastics.
India’s first ever gymnast to qualify for the Olympics began training at the age of six, undeterred by the flat feet she was born with. Sachin Tendulkar who is himself all time greatest batsman in the history of Cricket History told the media wing that ” Dipa is an inspirational girl for the youngsters of many individuals in India”. While a qualification for the final in the other categories eluded her by a fair distance, she has managed to finish among the best in her pet event, the Vault.
“Because Dipa won the vault gold in the Rio test event in April, the entire country thinks she will come back home with a medal”.

Dipa has secured 7.000 on difficulty and 8.1 on execution in her first attempt. Around 85 Indian champions have participated in various competitive games.
