Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has seemingly not given up hope of keeping Manchester United-bound Paul Pogba despite the player being set to undergo a medical ahead of a return to Old Trafford.

Mourinho believes the 23-year-old boasts a rare combination of qualities possessed by such Premier League greats as Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Scholes, who retired after United’s last title triumph in 2013.

Pogba was driven into United’s Aon Training Complex in the passenger seat of a red and black Chevrolet vehicle provided by the club, having flown to Manchester from Nice.

Pogba left United for Juventus in 2012 having made just seven senior appearances in all competitions for the Premier League club, all from the bench.
Pogba has always been one of the most coveted players on the transfer market and the teams targeting him this summer are probably the best indication of that.
And Mourinho went on to suggest that the return to Old Trafford for Pogba is the “perfect” move for the France worldwide.
“I just know he is a big player that is going, for sure, to be important for a big club like Manchester United”.
When asked about the Pogba move after his side’s Community Shield win over Leicester City at Wembley, Mourinho told BT Sport: “It’s an fantastic situation that such a great player is with us”.

The fee will make the France midfielder the world s most expensive player and while Mourinho accepts that it is an eye-watering amount of money, he feels it is a sign of the club s standing in the game. He comes because he knows the club, the city, some of the players.
