There’s a new book coming to town.
Harry Potter & The Cursed Child (Parts 1 & 2) is a play as well as a story bound in book form, and it is released globally this weekend. The story also chronicles Harry’s son Albus, who is living in the shadow of his father’s legacy. Harry Potter’s magic is back.
In the United Kingdom fans’ interest in the world of wizardry hasn’t abated and bookstore Waterstones reported that pre-orders have already passed the six-figure milestone, the Guardian reports. At the culmination of the estimated two-and-a-half [-] minute event, the fans lowered their books and raised up paddles showing the cover of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two, drawing cheers throughout the neighborhood.
In honor of the new addition to the world famous book series, Nantucket Book Partners is hosting a week-long celebration of all things Harry Potter.
Andy Billstone, manager of Barnes & Noble at Mesilla Valley Mall, 700 S. Telshor Blvd., expects a big turnout for the release party beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday and ending at 1 a.m. Sunday. She’s still taking pre-orders for those willing to wait.
Barnes & Noble even has a countdown clock on their site for the release of the next book, including a link to pre-order.
Coles and Indigospirit stores will be open during regular hours on Sunday.
As of Wednesday, Frankenfield said, the library had 28 people on the hold list for physical copies of the book and 10 people on hold for e-books, and only one of those holds was placed on a juvenile library card.
The unknown factor they had to think about was whether people would be as interested in reading a play as they have been in reading the seven novels. The book is already expected to become the best seller of the year, according to USA TODAY reports.
But Hodges Figgis on Dawson Street in Dubin, Bridge Street Books in Wicklow, and Waterstones in Drogheda will sell the book as soon as the clock strikes midnight.
