Superman will be felt but he won’t be seen

Supergirl made her debut appearance in 1959 Action Comics, and Berlanti and Kreisberg worked to maintain the DNA of the character while pulling the story-telling inspiration from Richard Donner’s well-known “Superman” films that starred Christopher Reeve in 1978 and 1980. Specifically for Supergirl, they added a workplace element (“We felt like that hadn’t been represented in a show like this”) and an adult-sibling relationship.

To that effect, producer Ali Adler concluded by saying, “We are very excited that this is the adventures of “Supergirl”…It’s very much her point of view”.

Now that CBS is getting in on the superhero TV show trend with its upcoming hour-long drama Supergirl, fans have been wondering if that means that CBS and CW will team up in the future and host a crossover event surrounding their shared DC Comics universe. It gives the show a full year to establish its own identity on CBS, and then you have a chance to throw in some other characters to make it all the more entertaining.

Today, DC Entertainment chief creative officer Geoff Johns gloated nobody goes to Grey’s Anatomy conventions. If your expecting to see the Supergirl series to merge with the franchise, you’ll be disappointed as the heroine will only tandem with them via promos, Bleeding Cool reported. It’s not to diminish her, it’s to make it feel like there’s actual jeopardy to the show.

Not only that, but we see some back story of the character, too, as she admits to a friend that she embraced the superhero the previous night by saving a plane full of passengers.

“Melissa knows what she’s doing”, Flockhart said.

Speaking of Superman, Berlanti says there are no plans at the moment to have him show up on “Supergirl”, who has carved herself an entirely separate life in an entirely different place, National City.

“There’s something about me that, for most of my life, I’ve run from it”, Kara says to her neighbor, Winn (played by Jeremy Jordan). We also get to see a clip of origin as Krypton is destroyed and Kara Sor-El’s pod is flung to earth. General Zod was also said to be included, but the tweet may have been mistaken for Gen. Sam Lane.

Supergirl premieres October 26, 2015 on CBS.

What exactly will we see on CBS” “Supergirl?’ Well lucky for you, the cast and producers just sat down to answer every question – including what role Superman will play. This is obviously not a job for Superman, who already has enough on his hands, but for Supergirl, who takes it upon herself to become the world’s next champion.
