The Man of Steel Sequel Is Getting Back Into Gear
With Wonder Woman, Justice League, and several other superhero movies ahead, Warner Bros. will need to course correct in a big way to justify Superman coming back for a sequel.

Despite the dismal critical consensus surrounding both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, Warner Bros.is charging ahead with a sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel. It’s possible that those two dates will be taken by Man of Steel’s sequel and Ben Affleck’s upcoming Batman solo film, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Superman is the posterchild for DC Comics and an American icon.
Henry Cavill played Superman for the first time in Man of Steel and reprised the role in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Furthermore, many saw Man of Steel as Superman’s equivalent of Batman Begins and lamented the fact that he has yet to get his own counterpart to The Dark Knight, as it were. For Warner Bros. and DC to have, according to many fans, misrepresented the character in Man of Steel is a major wrong that needs to be set right if the DC cinematic universe is to prosper. Only two films are now unnamed on the Warner Bros.

As it stands, Warner Bros. has claimed two dates for as-yet-unannounced DC Films: October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. The Hollywood news publication cites anonymous sources as saying this project is in the works, but as of yet, Warner Bros. has yet to confirm it.
