Medical teams rushed to the gymnast’s aid as he lay in agony on the landing mat, his Olympic dreams in tatters. As he was taken from the building, he was given a standing ovation. They managed to step it up after my fall, which really must not have been easy. Hopefully, he makes a quick recovery and can return to gymnastics in the near future. It’s always a shame when there’s an injury in this sport. Be strong, be good, I’m with you and I send you all big hugs and believe me – the Tokyo 2020 adventure is still a reality’.

Two summers ago in a scrimmage before the FIBA World Cup, the Indiana Pacers star sustained a compound fracture of the right tibia and fibula. Danny Pinheiro Rodrigues, who was schedule to vault after Said, chose not to compete and the team continued on to the next of its three remaining rotations.

Said was brought to the Rio Hospital where doctors immediately scheduled him for surgery to fix and reinforce his broken leg. Corinne Callon who is the team director of French team showed his emotion and told media that ” We’re still overcome by emotion, it’s unexpected, dramatic”.

“It is very hard for the team”. The top eight teams in qualifying will move on to Monday night’s team final.
