Reports have suggested United are ready to pay a world-record fee of around £100million for France worldwide Pogba, who has been on holiday in the United States after Euro 2016.
When he was then asked if he was confident it would be Pogba, Mourinho said: “I don’t like to speak about other clubs, or about players from other clubs”. We stay like this. Europe’s summer transfer window closes on August 31.
Mourinho has also talked about players who are already part of the team, like newcomer Bailly and Mkhitaryan. “If I had arrived earlier, I’d fight for him”, stated Mourinho.
Madrid’s only signing so far this summer has been striker Alvaro Morata, whom they bought back from Juventus.
“My teams are different to Mr Van Gaal, and it is a hard situation to change the dynamics”.
Massimiliano Allegri is unwilling to discuss potential replacements for Paul Pogba, insisting the midfielder remains a Juventus player. “It would be easier for me to have 20 new players and to start from zero”. For two years, they had some principles of play that are not my principles of play, clearly are not.
“But the players are players and, without losing their identity, they always try to adapt to what the manager wants”.
He admitted to scouting the player more times than Manchester United during his hiatus from managing after leaving the Chelsea job owing to a tumultuous start to the season and conceded that he had gotten to know the player better.

“Of course, after two years of work, there are things with their brain that are automatic, that is hard to change. but step by step, my team is going to be my team”. The annual game pits the current Premier League champion (Leicester) against the victor of last season’s FA Cup (United).
