Two US military members reveal what Capt. Humayun Khan was really like

His son, Captain Humayun Khan, was killed while serving in the U.S. Army in 2004.

Khan served with the 1st Infantry Division until his death in a 2004 vehicle bomb explosion in Iraq, Jason Roberts, a public affairs specialist with the Fort Riley-based division, confirmed this week.

“I was going to sit this one out (and not vote), but he (Mr Trump) has forced my hand and made it personal”, he said.

“When I saw Donald Trump attack another Gold Star mother, I felt such a sense of outrage”, she says in the 60-second ad. Even among Republicans, opinion is split: only 36% approve of Trump’s behavior, while 32% disapprove and 32% are unsure. “I think I’ve done a lot”. Khan’s address to the Democratic convention showed that Muslims serve proudly in our military, something many Americans did not realize, and that heroes come from everywhere, every background. He suggested that Ghazala Khan had stood silently beside her husband because, as a Muslim woman, she was forbidden to speak. Asked to cite a sacrifice he’d made for his country, Trump replied that he was successful.

Both Ayotte and McCain were critical of Trump’s response to the Khans, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention about losing their son in combat, and blasted Trump. I have heard some argue that Mr. Khan should not have politicized his son’s sacrifice. These are the hallmarks of an impetuous person who lacks empathy-the ability to walk in another’s shoes.

The policy that Mr. Trump initially proposed, in a general way, is not one Mr. Zeldin said he could support, but he added that considering certain religious beliefs in reviewing immigration applications should not be completely off the table, in light of the worldwide terror campaign being waged by Islamist groups in the Middle East. “Misrepresentations that (you) shamelessly create”, NPR’s Noor Wazwaz told Trump on Twitter.

“I imagine the reason Donald Trump is doing that is to try to raise anxiety in the minds of voters and to hopefully, from his point of view, turn that anxiety into support for him”, Wagner said.

And should the aggrieved parent choose to complain, waving the Constitution as did Mr. Khan, who is more important, American citizens or alien Irishmen?

When I took to the stage to speak at the Democratic National Convention last week, I did so to honor my son, Humayun, who was killed 12 years ago while serving in the USA military in Iraq. I’m doing very well in New Hampshire.

Listening to Trump as he auditions for the job, we’re alarmed.

Khan said that he was “not surprised” by Trump’s negative reaction to his speech, in which he criticized Trump for calling to ban Muslim immigrants, questioned whether he had ever read the U.S. Constitution, and said, “You have sacrificed nothing and no one”.
